Strategies for Wraparound Support:
1. Outside Support: Find additional supportive adults to collaborate with to offer individual students support from several roles. This can include counselors, coaches, parents, aids, and other teachers. (Eber, L. Hyde, K. & Suter, J. 2011) 2. Positive Behavior Support Plan: Develop a PBS Plan to meet the needs of the student in question. This plan is developed by a team who know the student in several different settings. The team finds a plan to reinforce positive behaviors and to replace non productive behaviors. (Villa, R.A. Thousand, J.S. & Nevin, A.I. 2010) 3. MAPS: This approach, called Making an Action Plan, utilizes a support team of people who care about the student who meet with a student to develop an educational plan. It is an 8 step process that include charting the student's history, his/her dreams or goals, fears, strengths and talents, needs to meet his/her dreams. (M.A. Falvey, M. Forest, J. Pearpoint, & R. Rosenberg 1994) |
